Privacy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This page covers this website, ericdahl.dev. The ShowRecorder app has its own privacy policy.

Analytics

The site uses PostHog, a hosted analytics service in the United States, to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. It records the pages you open, when you leave them, the page or site that linked you here, your browser and device type, and clicks on links and buttons. To tell visits apart, PostHog stores a random visitor ID in a cookie and in your browser's local storage. Visits are not linked to your name or an account, and the data is not used for ads.

Chat

Every page has an optional chat button in the corner. Nothing loads from the chat service until you click it. The chat is Chatwoot, run on Eric's own server. Once you open it, it stores an identifier in your browser (a cookie and local storage) to keep your conversation. Your messages, and any email address you give, are kept so Eric can reply. They are not used for ads or tracking.

Fonts

The site's fonts are served from ericdahl.dev itself, not from a third-party font service.
